Tahoe

We went to Tahoe on our honeymoon 34 years ago. 

We stayed in this cabin, it was owned by one of Russ' friends family.

This year we went to Tahoe and went looking for where we had stayed on the South Shore of Tahoe. 

Here the cabin is 34 years later.

Yea we all looked better then!!! Obviously it has not been well cared for. The deck has been rebuilt but not with as much charm as the original.  Well, well we all suffer with age!!

It was fun to find it. I found a different one that I thought was it. Russ was sure this was it.

This is the one I thought it was. But Russ new the slope of the land and this one didn't fit what he remembered.  He was right.

Wonderful fresh eggs

Just look at the beautiful color of our fresh eggs. I love the inside color of the green eggs.

We had a breakfast lunch today. We enjoyed hash browns and ham and eggs!!!

Russ and Anna have mowed all the lawns, there is a wonderful smell of freshly mowed grass.

Cleaning the basement...

I have been at a neglected space and an incomprehensible project today.

I am trying to clean the basement.

I have alot of things in my basement.  I have I know 30+ years of storage down there.

Well I am trying to take a stab at it today and am resolved to eliminate a large portion of the storage.

I found this backpack in the storage room. 

I used to wear this pack to school when I was younger and lived in Nuremberg, Germany. You can see the use of the pack, one of the handles is worn off.  Germany was progressive. They had the children putting their books on their backs way.... before America took to back packs..

LEDERHOSEN!!!!!!

This particular pair of leather shorts my brother's wore when we lived in Germany!!  So now we are showing I am storing things from alot longer ago that 30+ years!!!!

Another pair of LEDERHOSEN!!! This particular pair I bought and yes wore, in fact I believe I had them made for me when I was on a semester abroad in Austria.  Yes I guess that I was more of a Tom boy as most of the girls on my semester abroad had DIRNDLE'S made for them.

I think it also has to do with the fact that I remembered these wonderful shorts that my brothers wore years before!!

Overcast

Each morning this week, it has been overcast much like the coast and then the clouds have burned off and we have enjoyed very nice sunny days.

I find this almost as beautiful as pinecones?!  What is it about this?!!!!

Carson, Carson, you have to love his preference to boots, his or not, and slippers.  He is no dummy these furry inside shoes are comfy!!!  It appears that he had changed in these photos from Abby's comfy boots to her garden boots...

As much motion and delight as little Elsie!!  These two little peas in a pod played well all day!! They obviously stole Nanna's heart!!!

The girl just lives in her own world very contentedly.  She is halarious and definately needs to be chronicled!!!

Beauty of the Day

Russ picked up one of the flowers that had fallen from our bouquet yesterday.

He put it in this glass.

It is a beauty that would have been forgotten...

Flowers for Doyle

We bought some blooms at Costco today and put them together for Doyle's funeral tomorrow.

Beautiful blooms for Lauretta, I am not sure there is anyone who enjoys flowers more.

Utah Charm

The beauty bush trees are in bloom. The pink is quite spectacular against the spring greens along with the yellow forsythia.

We have a new pine tree!!!  Russ brought up a pine from the lower yard and planted it where the large storm damaged pine trunk was recently removed.

It looks charming.  The flower gardens will enjoy some more sun than they have had for a couple of years.

We should have some pretty gardens this year!
