Mowing the Lawn

Anna mowing the upper back lawn.

Anna mowing the middle back lawn.

Anna, bless her has been out mowing our lawns this morning...

She heads to the lower yard with full lawn clipping bags...

Russ follows her down.

And at Russ' pumpkin patch, he empties the grass in the field to be mulched in the soil,
creating a fertile field for next years pumpkins!

And Anna then heads back up the yard to the upper lawn.
Sweet, sweet helper she is!

Walnuts in my Yard

Every year our squirrels harvest walnuts for the winter.  They always hide them in the pine trees.  Those large pine trees fell in the storm of a year ago.
I was humored to see this walnut hidden in my small decorative bush in the front yard a couple of days ago.

Our large Walnut tree in the back yard.  If you look close you can see Russ on his knees
picking up fallen nuts.

When we are smart we have the grandkids fill up buckets of these fallen nuts when they are here.
The fallen nuts kill the grass if they are left on the ground.
The walnut has some chemical it emits that kills the grass.

These are the three stages of nuts you find on the ground.
They start with the green covering, that then dries to brown, and when completely dry falls off the walnut, revealing the nut looking familiar.

Fall in the Yard

While Anna was out mowing the lawn this morning,  I wondered with my camera.

Sticky Buns

I awoke to the smell of sticky buns!

Russ made sticky buns this morning.

Sticky buns & omelet, a great fall morning food...
Yummy, yummy, yummy!!!

Drawing with my kids

I forgot to take photos yesterday.

I got to spend the day with K&A&C.
At one point in the day, we were out on the porch drawing together.

Carson looks up and said "Grandma I love you come to our house",
well needless to say, my heart was melted.

PS  Carson was drawing with his left hand!!!

Autumn

The air is crisp, the sky cloudy, and the colors abound.

We love the coolness, the colors and hint of seasons to come.

Compliments of Grandpa's Pumpkin Patch

Grandpa's pumpkin patch lives on...

Thanks Grandpa!!!
