These are the large shells Russ found on the beach this week in CA. He found other quite common shells often found on the beach. These large shells are also common shells found on the beaches in CA but their size is what is great about them. A few are about 4 inches in size and I read that 6 inches is the largest so these are great finds. I also read that shells are often found about 2 days after a storm. They are often found in rocks and tide pools where they become stuck in the rocks and enclosures.
There were not many on the beach and it is not a peak season for the beach I think these factors also contributed to these wonderful finds.
