Sleepover

A tradition has been to have all the families come and sleep at Grandpa & Granna's house every summer.

We pitch our tents and sleep in our yard.  It has always been fun to sleep over in tents as families and then spend time together the next day with activities.
The summer's beginning got away from us without having this sleepover this year.

Two families are expecting babies later this year.  Nate & Becky spent the summer in Seattle.  So for some reason our campout didn't happen.  The summer heat descended upon us....

So last night after visiting the Brigham City Temple Open House, all the older grandkids spent the night in our backyard with me in our tent!

This morning they are out in the tent playing with pipe cleaners and bouncy balls.  Glow in the dark bouncy balls.  We didn't get them out in the dark last night due to our late time getting to bed.
I am sure that would have delayed our already hard to fall asleep little ones from nodding off.

It was a great temperature all night.  I did awaken early morning to put on a blanket cover for me and check to see if all were covered and sleeping sound.

My next awareness was the kids trying to wake me up, around 7:00 AM.

It ended up being a great night to sleep over.
We beat the sun up.  We all noticed how much cooler the temperature got right before the sun came up.  The winds actually were blowing the tree limbs above us and started blowing just right before the sun arose.  The little ones all snuggled in their blankies and I loved the breeze!!

C&M have wonderful minkie blankies from their other Grandma that they were proud to tell us about and show us the loving label she put on them when she made them for them.
They were even so good as to share these minkie  blankies with K&A!!

It was impressive to me.  My heart also soared as K&A comforted Mabel as she needed a little of that right before falling to sleep last night.

The last pronounement I heard from all the kids was I am never going to be able to fall asleep!!!

The crickets or Cicada's were really really loud last night.  If you consciously noticed their noise it was almost deafening, but I noticed after not specifically paying attention to their buzz it was almost a sleep loller.

Bennett and Ryan you will be here for our next sleepout!!! Can't wait to see you guys in a couple of days and you can join in our fun!!!!!
