Smith Ranch

I mentioned in my previous post about the Smith Ranch.
Here are photos of the ranch.

These photos were taken while driving. (Once again thanks to R&L for a wonderful camera!!)

Camping

The kids all wanted to go to Spirit Lake to camp this year.

We have visited Spirit Lake on many a vacation while they were young. They have many fond memories of Spirit Lake.

We have gone to Spirit Lake because it is near Grandpa and Grandma Smith's ranch.  Russ spent his summer's up at their ranch when he was growing up. He and his brothers would all head up to their Grandparents ranch and run it for the summer. Russ did this every summer starting at age 12.

Spirit Lake is just up from the ranch. As we drove up to the lake we took photos of the ranch. It has long since been sold.

Well this blog was to show preparations for the journey. I thought it too long of  post to do the camping and prep all together. soo..

This is a portion of the items that were packed and  taken up with us camping.
These are the vehicle used to take all that equipment up camping!  Now it makes me ask myself "How did we take any kids with us when we had a family that had to go up with us too?! These vehicles were packed with equipment no bodies but Russ and I!!"

This is our destination "Spirit Lake"

Another Bowl

I made another crocheted bowl last Wednesday while caring for Bert.

I had some beautiful blue yarn this time. Also yarn that Russ found for me. It is the softest yarn. I believe it has silk in it. It was delightful to work with. It's softness almost cuddling to work with. It was very relaxing to crochet with the soft soft yarn.

I have put my pins in it. I have a couple of cheerful pins I add to my outfits that I have felt livened up some of my blouses or jackets.

This bowl is the perfect keeper of my accesories. It is very charming to me.

I used a single crochet stitch for most of it. Then while building the sides of the bowl I alternated single crochet rows and then used several double crochet rows alternating these two stitches every couple of rows. I ended up doing a little peak on the last row with 3 single crochet stitches and then chained 2 stitches and then continued around the whole last row in this pattern.

How Fun Are These!!!!!

Remember the chairs that Anna was working on.

Remember she sanded refinished and reupolstered some chairs that she was able to aquire from the Dental Office she works for?!

The process was documented on a previous blog....

Well look at the finished chair, the other ready for all the cording to be finished also!

How beautiful is this!!!!

Legos

Legos the all time favorite toy.
I wonder if one could even count the hours that all the children in the world play with legos?!
I think Legos are the perfect toy for play, invention, creativity, interplay, problem solving and the list goes on & on....

I had a great time this morning with a family of 5 boys.
They are dear friends and their play this morning was fun to watch and listen to.

They love Legos and there was a constant hum of tunes while they played so well together and in their imaginative play...

It is a delight to listen to happy children's play!
