Mouse and Zoe have Friends

Mouse had a friend this evening.

Zoe had 2 friends.

Grandpa & Anna & I had three friends for the night.

Connor attached himself to Anna for the night.  He went with her to play Ultimate Frisbee with friends.

The girls hang out here until Grandpa and I took them home to get in jammies and we tried to get them in bed.

H&C went out to celebrate C's Birthday together!

Evening Sky

Our evening sky was beautiful last night...

I had already been outside and taken photos when some of the grandkids arrived. Of course I was delighted when soon after their arriving they went outside and they called me out to see the beautiful sky!!

Anna Saves the Day

Anna literally saved my day...

I am not used to doing dishes by hand, my dishwasher is doing a substandard wash these days...

So I was filling the sink to wash some items and rewash some items.  One can see my level of distraction today!!!!

My floor is buckling too, I think this means there is some water somewhere, it makes me suspicious that my dishwasher is not only washing the dishes substandard, but perhaps leaking water on the floor also...

Could this mean my dishwasher is dying????

Magical

This is a magical machine for someone who does not do heat!!!

Can you see the temp. gauge?!

Yes it is actually keeping my family room at that temperature.

I feel like the day is magical, at that temperature.  One with a similar heat sensitivity would understand, perhaps not anyone else!!!

But my day will be a good one for sure!!!!

I think we will survive the rest of the summer quite cheerfully.  Russ you can quote me if you need to on that!!!!

Volunteer Sunflowers

This is the sunflower that fell over last week.  It now grows much like a squash plant.  It's blooms are coming up on the side of the stock!!!

I am amazed at it's adaptability and survival!!!

Zucchini

Our zucchini plants are beginning to produce.  I am going to do my best to keep up with these energetically growing plants!!!

Teacup

This cute little teacup is from one of Mom's set's of china. 

I always loved it's tiny size, the beautiful color and the dainty design.

I had borrowed it for a lesson last month.

She was at my home the other day and said to just keep it.

It will split her set now between the children. But she said that is what she wants.

Seeing this china brings alot of memories.  I used to set the table for Sunday dinners.  These were in the dining room.  I would choose between Mom's three sets of china.  This teacup pattern.  A cream colored pattern with a silver rose in its pattern.  I am going to have to think on this I can't remember off hand the other pattern.  

It would be fun for me to take pictures of the other sets to remind me.

Wall of Record

We have kept a height record of our kids and now our grandkids. It has been fun to mark their growth through time.

I am afraid I am now going to paint over this door frame that has this record.  So a photo will now have to be the record!!

A little Paint

Charming pine wood for 20 years...

Got a coat of paint today...

We painted only one wall so far and the room is so much lighter and vibrant...

It only took a paint brush or two...

A roller or two...

Some beautiful eggshell paint...

A couple of hours of work for Russ & I and our room is looking up enough for us to keep going next week!!  All the walls in the family room will get a refreshed look!

I am excited and very pleased with our progress so far!!
