Visitors

We had the most fun visitors today!

Tali and Kaylie dropped in this morning! We had such a fun visit.  Kaylie was Tali's driver this weekend as she was here for a friends wedding events.  Tali is taking the red eye back to DC tonight.

I just love those cute girls!! They both exude such enthusiasm for life, it is fun to visit with them.

It was fun to have the cousins head off to church together. It is funny how a Mom finds so much pleasure in watching others enjoy themselves.  Watching cousins enjoying cousins.  It warms a Mom and Grandma and Aunts heart!!

These two cute girls each bought cards form me.   I had them go to my shop to show activity in my shop. Of course that is a way to warm my heart too.  The shop looked a little bare afterwards, so I added a few cards I had on hand that had not been listed this afternoon, and 2 of those sold within the hour of listing.  (and all of this I am not sure is kosher for a Sunday)

But it was wonderful to see both Tali & Kaylie.

I am so happy to have both of their blogs. I have visited them both and enjoyed reading their blogs.  I was laughing so hard reading Tali's blog, Anna asked what I was reading!!

She too is happy now to have their blogs.

I have a new camera. Not much escapes it's lense, unfortunately I didn't get a picture of those two cute girls here today!!  Next time.

Thanks for stopping by.

One more for the Record

It is always good to be on this end of things. I will get the stitches out Tues. One interesting note is I wore blue to church today and my stitches seemed to turn blue today?!
I am able to smile again. Minimal swelling left.

A mug shot is a mug shot though.

Good Day

I had a fun day with these little ones.

Bennett of course loves anything with balls. We had a ton of fun playing with these paddles and a balloon. A couple of hours worth of fun!

Look at his form!!!

Mug Shot

One more mug shot....
I think I have healed very well. I am very happy with how little I bruised and how fast I have healed.
No more sympathy!!!

Eating

We enjoyed eating with the Brown's after Dean's farewell today.

It was very warm so we tried to find a place by the creek in the shade! It helped a little.

Connor showed me the bunny!

Dragonflies, dragonflies and even more dragonflies!!!

Russ experienced a day like I had the other day when I mowed my lawn in dragonfly heaven!

Russ walks up in the hills surrounding our home on Sunday mornings.  He takes Zoe and they go up in the foothills.  He usually brings home photos or objects from his walk to share.  I love it.

A dragonfly hitched a ride for awhile he said!

Today he said the dragonflies were out in force!! You can see Russ is still learning to use our camera too!!  He said the camera doesn't know what to focus on!!! ( that is my problem too!!!)

Last week Russ only had his phone for photo taking on his walk.  But did he ever see the treasure last week.

A baby hawk.  It kept its wings out like this as though he couldn't fold up those long things!!

He is pretty cute though!

Object Lesson

Anna teaches Gospel Doctrine today.

She has a nice object lesson for her lesson.  They are sitting out and I thought worthy of a photo.

Of course with our new camera I find everything worthy of a photo. I am still trying to figure out the new camera, I can use lots of practice!

Writing Desk

We have an order for the writing desk we have listed in my Etsy shop.

Russ started its construction today. He will need to put on the top and hinges. I will stain it.

It should be off to Minnesota on Thurs.  I think the ones he has constructed look wonderful!!

Tansy

I have seen some beautiful wool for sale on Etsy.
Some of it is hand spun and dyed.

I saw some beautiful yarn I liked, and they said they used Tansy, an herb, to dye the light green color that the yarn was. It was such a lovely color. I fell in love with the color.

So... today I picked some Tansy that I have in my flower garden in the back.

Put it in a large pot... Added the shirt I wanted this beautiful color... and started it boiling.
I did add a little vinegar...

And my shirt turned out the very light yellow green that I wanted I am very pleased!!!

Joshua

Years ago I had a friend calligraphy this scripture for me.

It was a favorite of my Mom's. We had it on the wall in my home growing up.

So I gave each of my siblings a copy of the calligraphy and many of us have it up in our homes.

First Purchase

This is one of the first furniture purchases Russ and I made.

We found it at a yard sale. It was its beautiful wood that attracted us to it.
We sanded and stained it and put it back together.

It has been a lovely accent piece for years.

Collage

I don't know why I decided to take my old bread box.
(I must say a fine old bread box that Russ made for me years ago, it was lovely oak)
I have no idea why I decided to paint it.

And then after painting it I decided to put varied paper squares on it with modge podge.

Then I decided that wasn't what I wanted.
So I decided to modge podge a collage on top of the varied paper.

I took many papers and items that meant something to me and put them in this collage. I am sure it is busy. I decided it is too busy for the kitchen. But something about it touches me. It reminds me of so many times and things and events, so I like it.

Being too busy for the kitchen, I have decided it is for my bedroom. I will use it to put things in that don't need to be in sight. So the business of the collage will acutally keep the room less cluttered and too busy.

It is not quite finished yet.

I still need to add to the sides and lower front.

Projects

I always have something going in the works as far as a project.

I just have too many interests!!

Well I have a new lady that I care for once a week. She is a sweet 91 year old. Wednesday was my first time visiting her.  She has very good health and I am with her for company and to insure she is okay. She has reached the time her family feels she shouldn't be alone.

So I took some yarn with me Wed. It was a lovely day. Russ had found me some yarn and it worked up lovely. I shrunk it last night and I now have a lovely crocheted basket!

I was with Bert for almost 12 hours and I think this is a great product of that time!

Another project I put together recently aided me in taking my yarn supplies along with me..
I had my crochet hooks in side in a nice ordered case I made and then this lovely pouch to carry my project along with me.

How fun is it to be a little organized!!

Yes, you do recognize my kitchen curtain leftover fabric!!!!

Play Day

I had fun with alot of the Grandkids today!

I had K&A&C and then C&A&E came over in the afternoon.
They enjoyed a macaroni snack together.

They did a craft together.

I really like those paddles with the bouncey balls attached, so do they!!!

It was a fun day! On days like today I miss having Bennett and Ryan with us!!
Hope you're having fun in Oregon!

Cool Morning

It is lovely and cool out this AM.

I have walked out in the backyard.

Here are a couple of photos of my wonderings.

I had forgotten about my daisy's that bloom in July!!
They are a very cheery flower.

Then there is the balloon flower. I love their color but also their unique form. The flowers first start looking like a round balloon or ball. Then when ready they break out into bloom.
Aren' t they fun!!

The pears are looking good!

It is lovely out this morning.
One cannot help but be cheered by beautiful yellow blooms. I quite like the lacey daylilies!

Out of the Oven

And hot out of the oven...

It is not a fat-free night tonight around here!!!

Garden Produce

Look what Anna and Dad just brought up from the garden!!!

It is late but I think I will have to make fried zuchinni. Nothing can beat that freshness of those eggs and zuchinni!!!
