Sunday Walk

Russ and I enjoyed a Sunday morning walk this morning.

We have a wonderful waterfall just up the road. It is a manmade fall that goes under the road and comes out a stream on the other side of the road.  It is a picturesque waterfall.  The road is a bridge over the stream.

We often use it as a landmark in our speach. " I am going to the waterfall, or I am going up to the bridge."

Russ & I & Zoe went up to the waterfall together this morning. Usually Russ and Zoe have their Sunday morning walks together but I joined them this morning.

We enjoyed looking at the waterfall and stream it is running very high.  The waterfall is wide and so looks quite similar to its normal heavy flow of water in the spring, but the stream is raging.  It is usually just a quiet meandering stream but the stream is raging today.

We had warm weather yesterday, we are to have warm weather today and then cool down for a bit next week.

We have had unusually cool weather this Spring. We have huge amounts of snow in the mountains still so there have been great concerns about the high levels of runoff we will have.  All the rivers are at close to flood stage currently.

Our forecasted cooler weather is the perfect conditions to get the water down the mountains successfully. They say if we have a little warm weather than some cool weather, and back and forth conditions like that for a time period, we should be able to have the snow melt without too much flooding.

There has been flooding and tornado devestation all across the country this spring. One almost feels guilty to hope that we will be spared and who knows maybe we won't be spared flooding devestation this year. But we do pray that we will be spared from any devestation.

Our area here in Friut Heights is about as picturesque a place, as any place anyone could visit.  With all our moisture we really look like a haven of beauty! Friut Heights is a haven of beauty with its surroundings and also its people. This is a choice area.

We consider it a huge blessing to live here.
